Accessing our site

Access to our site is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on our site without notice (see below). We will not be liable if for any reason our site is unavailable at any time or for any period.

Intellectual property rights

We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site, and in the material published on it except where this has been published by third parties who hold copyright over such material.  Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world.  All such rights are reserved.

You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from our site for your personal reference and you may draw the attention of others within your organisation to material posted on our site.

You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.

Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of material on our site must always be acknowledged.

You must not use any part of the materials on our site for commercial purposes without obtaining a license to do so from us or our licensors.

Our site changes regularly

We aim to update our site regularly, and may change the content at any time. If the need arises, we may suspend access to our site, or close it indefinitely. Any of the material on our site may be out of date at any given time, and we are under no obligation to update such material.

Our liability

The material displayed on our site is provided without any guarantees, conditions or warranties as to its accuracy. To the extent permitted by law, we, and third parties connected to us hereby expressly exclude:

Information about you and your visits to our site

We process information about you in accordance with our privacy policy.  By using our site, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.

Viruses, hacking and other offences

You must not misuse our site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our site. You must not attack our site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack.

By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use our site will cease immediately.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of our site or to your downloading of any material posted on it, or on any website linked to it.

Where our site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only.  We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.  When accessing a site via our website we advise you check their terms of use and privacy policies to ensure compliance and determine how they may use your information.

Jurisdiction and applicable law

The English courts will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any claim arising from, or related to, a visit to our site.

These terms of use and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

Conferences, Training and Seminar Terms and Conditions

Generally

The Environment Study Centre reserves the right to replace trainers / speakers/ presenters with suitable substitutes.

We will do our very best to avoid cancelling or aborting a course on the day or just before. Should this be necessary we will refund the fees or the appropriate portion thereof. We cannot accept liability for any other costs, expenses or losses of attendees wasted time.

The views expressed during events are not attributable to the Environment Study Centre and are personal to each trainer / speaker/ presenter and the Environment Study Centre accepts no responsibility for advice or opinions expressed verbally or within documentation provided.

Public Courses

All conditions are to be governed under English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

The Fees will be as advised for each particular event and includes documentation, CDP Certificate, refreshments on arrival, break times and lunch unless indicated otherwise. The fee does not include overnight accommodation and associated food and beverage costs.

All attendees shall be required to make payment in full prior to attending events. Bookings can be made on a provisional basis but must be confirmed in writing with the appropriate payment, official order, letter or email plus the name of the attendee(s).

Joining instructions will be forwarded to attendees on receipt of payment; if you have not received these within one week before the commencement of the event, please contact us to ensure your place has been booked.

 

Any cancellations, substitutions and/or rescheduling requests must be received by email and you are responsible for ensuring that the Environment Study Centre receives your written request.  The Environment Study Centre will reply with a written acknowledgement within 2 working days. Substitutions of attendees may be made up to 36 hours pre-registration.

Refunds will be made for any cancellations received but these must be in writing at least two weeks prior to the commencement of the event. Cancellations will be subject to a 25% administration charge. Refunds will not be made for cancellations received after this date.

Rescheduling is allowed for up to two occasions per individual booking and only when the event is scheduled to take place on a subsequent occasion. Requests must be received by email at least two weeks prior to the event commencement date. If a rescheduled event is not taken up within 12 months of the date of the original event the entire fee will be forfeited.

In House Courses

The Environment Study Centre can provide most events to organisations for delivery on their own premises or at premises that they arrange and pay for, to an internal audience.

The Environment Study Centre welcomes enquiries for in house courses and can provide fees on request. Fees quoted will be inclusive of the trainer / speaker/ presenter costs and expenses plus the provision of an electronic copy of notes and a hard copy of notes for each attendee. Clients shall receive and store the couriered notes and make available on the day, provide a suitable room, projector, refreshments. Where lunch is provided for attendees this shall be provided for the trainer / speaker/ presenter as well.

The fees quoted shall be held form for 12 months from acceptance of this proposal by the Client, thereafter they will be the subject of negotiation between the Client and the Environment Study Centre.

Any changes to the agreed course content may incur additional costs.

The timing of the event will be subject to agreement, but typically commencement at 9.00 / 9.30 and be complete by 17.00 / 17.30 with breaks for coffee / tea and lunch.

Subject to credit approval, in-house events can be booked with an official order, letter or email.  Invoices for events will be submitted in Pounds Sterling, no later than fourteen days prior to course delivery. Payment shall be received by the date of the event.

Any requests for rescheduling or cancellation must be received by email and it is your responsibility to ensure that the Environment Study Centre has received your request.  The Environment Study Centre will reply with a written acknowledgement within 2 working days.

Complaints

The Environment Study Centre endeavours to provide excellent customer service and we continuously evaluate the way we conduct our business and provide customer service. We welcome feedback which enables us to continuously improve. If you have a complaint or a suggested improvement please initially speak to the trainer/ presenter/ speaker if appropriate or email the Director of the Environment Study Centre (sally@environmentstudycentre.org). We will contact you within two weeks of any complaints received.


Webinar Terms and Conditions

The Environment Study Centre collects personal information when you register for our digital event and sponsored content. We will use this information to deliver the product or service for which you are registering.

The Environment Study Centre  is the controllers of your data for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018 and will collect certain personal information from you so that the content can be delivered to you. The Environment Study Centre agrees to contact you only about the subject of the content and similar content and will not to pass your personal information to a third party.

You can opt out at any time by contacting info@environmentstudycentre.org with your request.
