The only course of its kind with a qualification has been developed by CITB’s National Construction College and Edwards Hart Consultants and is only available from the Environment Study Centre. The two day course has been eighteen months in the making with input from Historic Scotland, Sustainable Traditional Buildings Alliance expert panel members and Edinburgh Napier University, making it a most credible course based upon latest research and UK Government National Occupational Standards. Its development included pilots run in England, Wales and Scotland earlier this year and is independently accredited by the Scottish Qualification Authority.
John Edwards, a Director of Edwards Hart said: “Having initially worked on the National Occupational Standards on which this course is based, I am particularly pleased to finally see this unique and important course being delivered and proud to be the one that delivers it”. John added: “As expert practitioners and qualified educators and trainers we welcome the rigour of delivering an independently accredited course and the only one that provides a qualification as opposed to just CPD”.
Upon booking, participants will receive a comprehensive course manual and course notes will be available on day one. The content is wide ranging and includes latest research, practices, standards, guidance and using retrofit decision making tools such as the STBA retrofit guidance wheel. There will be a maximum of 16 in each class.
The course will be delivered across the UK in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland from November 2015 to March 2016, with the first one taking place in London on the 2nd and 3rd November. Find out more here.
