Course Description

This half day CPD course runs in conjunction with the Managing Maintenance of Historic Buildings Under FM, half day course. It will introduce FM in an historic setting – why historic /Listed buildings are special and why they are Listed. The course will compare and contrast with modern buildings, deal with the legalities, use and abuse issues, sensitive environments, maintenance and repair. It will also cover use type issues, including aesthetics and the context of historic settings, sustainability and energy efficiency and getting FM teams on board – this is about the need for all FM staff to play a positive role and includes the need for things like tool box talks and what to cover. The course will be based upon best practice standards and to the same rigour and professional standards as our ‘accredited’ Government approved courses. An Environment Study Centre Certificate will be awarded on completion of this course. This will be put on our calendar of public events, but if you are booking six or more individuals then we can deliver this in-house. Please contact us for further details.
